Saeed Akhtar Mirza is new President of FTII

Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune, nominating national award-winning director Saeed Akhtar Mirza as its President. The society has been constituted for a period of three years with effect from 4th March or until further orders, officials in the Information and Broadcasting Ministry said on Thursday. Mirza, who has directed films like Mohan Joshi Hazir Ho, Albert Pinto Ko Gussa Kyon Ata Hai, Saleem Langde Pey Mat Ro and Naseem, would also act as the chairman of the FTII Governing Council. Among the ex-officio members nominated by the government, are Joint Secretary (Films) Ministry of I and B or his/her Nominee not below the rank of Deputy Secretary, Chief Executive Officer, Prasar Bharati or his/her nominee not below the rank of Deputy Director General, Additional Secretary and Financial Adviser, Ministry of I and B or his/her nominee not below the rank of Deputy Secretary.
