Veena Malik to star in 3D horror film

Pakistani actress Veena Malik is busy shooting a 3D horror movie in a jungle in southern India. Though the destination is being kept a secret for security reasons, Veena says she is having a lot of fun and adventure shooting the film. Disclosing a few details about the project, Veena said: “It’s a 3D horror film with Telugu filmmaker Hemant Madhukar, and it’s really hard to shoot.” “For one, we are shooting in the wilderness. There are no luxury hotels, no daily comforts. Then it’s a 3D film, not like the other 3D films in Hindi where the 2D format is converted into 3D. We are shooting in 3D which means every shot takes hours sometimes. It’s really time consuming because I am playing both the ‘thriller’ and ‘horror’ element of the film,” she added. Veena performs all her stunts on her own in the film. “(There’s) lots of wirework and flips and somersaults and bruises and cuts. I am roughing it out here in the jungles and enjoying every bit of it!” she added. Veena, who became a known name in India after her stint in the fourth season of reality show “Bigg Boss”, is happy she is shooting for an actual 3D film.  Perhaps not aware of Vikram Bhatt’s stereoscopic 3D film “Haunted”, Veena said: “This is the first Hindi film to be actually shot in the 3D format. Otherwise films like ‘RA.One’ were shot in 2D and transferred to the 3D format.” The actress is also set to have her ‘swayamvar’ on India’s national television, through Imagine TV, which has earlier hosted ‘swayamvars’ of Rakhi Sawant, Rahul Mahajan and Ratan Rajput

The Dirty Picture Movie Pass board without Cut & 'A' certificate for Desi Boyz by censor

Desi Boyz and The Dirty Picture were examined by the Censor Board this week and the committee's decision has left many astounded. Apparently, the Akshay Kumar and John Abraham starrer Desi Boyz has been given an 'A' certificate while The Dirty Picture has been passed without any cuts. The makers of Desi Boyz were expecting a U/A certificate since it's a big-budget film with Akshay, John, Chitrangda and Deepika. They feel that the film is made for a family audience and getting an 'A' certificate could cause them a lot of trouble. Akshay and John play male strippers in the film and that could have been a reason for board's decision. In contrast, the makers of The Dirty Picture were very anxious about the Censor Board's decision as the Censors have been sent a notice by the AP High Court to decide whether the film should be released. To their surprise the film has been passed with an 'A' certificate without any cuts.

The Dirty Picture New trailer

The new trailer of Milan Luthria’s film The Dirty Picture focuses on the chemistry between Vidya Balan and Emraan Hashmi. The trailer begins with a dialogue from Vidya Balan and then proceeds to show her rise to fame. We see Vidya mock-whip herself in a raunchy film as the front-benchers watch with jaw-dropping disbelief. We see Emraan Hashmi seething at the adulation that Vidya gets from her fans.

Rockstar Hindi Movie Review

Rockstar Hindi Movie Review: ***
The film is a story of an uncouth Delhi lad Janardhan Jhakhar (Ranbir Kapoor) who idolizes Jim Morrison but doesn’t have in him what it takes to make a cut. Pain, he’s told by a stocky canteen manager (Kumud Mishra), is the grist of creativity. So he seeks pain in the heartbreak by proposing the most beautiful girl in the college, Heer Kaul (Nargis Fakhri). But pain, like joy, is hard to come by. And it takes a long and outstretched relationship -- beginning with hate, turning into friendship and blossoming into love -- before our hero Jordan and his much married Heer are left with a shattered heart and an amputated soul, scarred enough to shuffle off their mortal coil.
It begins on an electric note, the big, bad rockstar escaping from a fight, hair blowing in the wind as he races through the streets of Rome (or is it Prague?) to jump straight into a crowd waiting for him. From then on, it goes downhill, and spectacularly so. Imtiaz Ali has discovered his baroque side and it is a terrible thing to behold. Everything is in excess. Ranbir Kapoor as Janardhan Jakhar, the naive Haryanvi boy trying to flirt with Heer Kaul, the elusive St Stephen's beauty, is too much of a buffoon, and as Jordan, the angry rocker, he's a little too raging bull. Newbie Nargis Fakhri is painful to watch, her mobile mouth overpowering her face, never quite pulling off the "neat and clean" stunner who wants to get her hands and feet dirty with a bit of rough and absolutely cringingly bad as the unhappy wife whose life is slowly slipping away.

Rowdy Rathore Movie Release Date

‘Rowdy Rathore’ released a hand painted poster to announce the film’s release date (June 15, 2012), it clearly salutes the era of cinema that was aligned to art as much as it was to story-telling. Rajesh Devraj, author of ‘The Art of Bollywood’- a book that traces the history of Bollywood posters, to talk on the subject. Devraj strongly believes that hand painted posters were more individualistic and represented the mood of the film. “The colour scheme chosen for the posters would be cleverly co-ordinated with the emotion conveyed and not just for poetic justice. So every angry young action hero would be painted in red, while every actress was splashed with pink and every gloomy scene would have oodles of blue.” Devraj believes that it encouraged the artists to create a distinct identity for the films and also gave Bollywood an identity of its own. “Hand-painted art work is more individualistic and artistic. The artist had the liberty to interpret the film in his own style. And today, when digital posters have replaced original hand-painted art work, each time we refer to something that is true to Bollywood, we go back to these posters.”
